“Is it wrong to act gay or do gay things if you are not gay? Can a man wear a dress for fun or dress up as a drag queen? They may not be gay, but they are doing gay things.”

I’m sure many of you have heard the old saying, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, then it’s a duck.––If a squirrel doesn’t want to get killed by duck hunters, then he probably shouldn’t dress up like a duck, walk around like a duck, and quack like a duck.

Consider what God says about homosexuality:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites. [NKJV]

1 Corinthians 6:9

For the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine. [NIV]

1 Timothy 1:10

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. [KJV]

Romans 1:26–27

We can clearly see from Scripture what God says about homosexuality and those who practice homosexuality. If we don’t want to incur God’s wrath against those who practice such things, then we should not get caught up in what they do.

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

Proverbs 17:15

Let’s not give justification to the world by acting the way they act. We should not let the world think that we condone their behavior.––How can we have any creditability to say that homosexuality is wrong when we act just as they do? 

Now that being said, let’s look at this from another perspective.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

John 7:24

We don’t need to judge people based solely on appearances! We don’t need to spread rumors about a person being gay just because their hobbies or their work is predominantly favored by homosexuals.

Furthermore,

I think we can exclude certain situations like a principal trying to raise money for his school, so he gives the incentive that he will come to school in a dress if the students raise so much money, or something of the sort. Or you go to an all-girls school, and you are in the drama club and some one has to play the part of Romeo.

There is a balance that Christians need to find between doing things for fun, while not condoning worldliness.

If our actions are going to hurt the reputation of the Christian image, the message of God, or the church, then we need not do it!
